Perhaps every student or a young person, has experienced in own student life with issues of living and getting along with two or several flatmates when living in a dormitory or shared apartment. My goal in this project was to create some kind of codex or set of rules, which should be followed by people living in a common space in flats. My intensions resulted into 10 rules, inspired by Christian Ten Commandments, which defines the most fundamental principles of living together. So, I made foldable brochure consisting my set of rules, as well as descriptions which are installed on spot, which are related to particular rule.
I installed the cards and leaflet in my apartement where I could be confronted by my roommates directly. Opinions and reactions varied. Everybody obeys or disobeys various rules. One roommate appreciated this informative help and would even keep it forever, other was aware of it but ignored it totally even though it can have influence on him. Lastly, rules are good for revealing personal, free approach of following them, they can also point out borders in their usage.
