Research, talks, workshops and educating. These words could be a right hashtags of Noel’s work. He’s an United Kingdom based graphic designer and activist focused in all global and social situations we’re all surrounded by. In his extensive work, we can see graphic design used as really meaningful tool. Actually, all initiative and interest for public issues comes from his activistic nature, then it changes into expressive design, public interventions, workshops or talks as we can see in video.
Nowadays, we live in age where all of us have a need to change something, at least to react and say: Something’s wrong! Most of people can just think out loud, but that’s not enough to change, to make things right. That’s why, I think, Noel’s way of reflection is the most right act to do. Because he uses current and popular communication channels to interact with society, to move forward with global thinking. He’s activity is highly expansive and worldwide. Alongside exhibiting, traveling to tell a word, over the world, designs for institutions or clients bold, ethical, politically and socially engaged work.
His main themes and subjects are race, resistance, brainwashing, political system…basically, everything what concerns us.
I would tell, It’s close to green thinking design or purpose – how to save the world, to educate people and make everything better.
