Critical Daily    Critical practice in graphic design

With my project I wanted to draw attention to disadvantages of the peeing to toilet in standing position. Given that I'm used to perform this natural need while sitting, I know that this method does not take up any more time than the method of standing - and its even more comfortable, hygienic (no bouncing of urine drops from capes to the environment) and even one can use this time with a meaningful activity.

The decided to motivate my roommates in two steps. First one was placing a critical texts on the site of the cape that was visible when the man picks up the toilet seat. The second step was putting tempting text that the person could read while sitting, in my case it was a philosophical dictionary.

Success of the campaign was 1:2. One of the three roommates was motivated to change his habit, but two of them ignored my campaign and they kept peeing their standing way.

The project was created during the course Critic – Critical practice in Graphic Design at Department of Visual Communication at Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. The course foucuses on practicing and developing individual or collaborative critical projects.
